In this world wherever we raom ancient words will giude us home (M. Smith), that is the message

“Thy word is a lamb unto my feet and a light unto my path” Psalm 119:105
I could remember together with some friends we decided to go for a seminar in a suburb of Accra (Ghana’s capital city). So we set out with the name of the place and thinking we knew the bus to take to the place. Latter we realized that we took the wrong bus and alighted at the wrong place. Even though that bus was destined to the suburb we were going, it wasn’t going to pass any where near our destination. A journey that was supposed to take us only about 20mins took us about 2 hours just going round the same place asking people who only gave us the wrong direction. We came to one agreement even though we knew our destination we didn’t know the road and had we a map of to our destination wouldn’t have been lost.

The same way many of us in this life have lost our way. Though as Christians we look forward to being with our Lord, we have actually lost truck of our road to him and most of us have discovered our own roads (Isai 53:6).

The result; we keep going round and round and cross the same obstacles over and over again. Then when we are tired we give saying “Oh God but I have gone through this over and over again why me, why does it always have to be like this?”

But if only we will be patience and reflect we will hear his small voice saying ‘my word is a light unto thy path’. Yes that is the map of our life. A living map, that locates us wherever we are and puts us back on truck. It warns you there is a mountain ahead and goes right on to make a way for you; it tells you there is a rushing river ahead and then goes ahead to calm the waters. How I love that map.

Jesus said “… if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”.

Brethren I believe the journey is tough, the road is dark and scary, but we have a map and a far brighter light to guide and there is the need to totally look to the map and light to see us through. The message is you can locate yourself on that map wherever you are and get right back on track to continue the journey in the right direction. You don’t have to join the wrong bus nor ask direction from the wrong people. His ancient words we guide home wherever we are roaming in this world.

Lets keep to His word
