Thank you, Lord, for the light of your presence which has made me truly alive.I praise You that your light far exceeds the glory of the flickering lights of this world. Your light within me outshines the brightness of the sun.

Stand Still & See

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you
 2 Chronicles 20:17

King Jehoshaphat and his people were asked to position themselves and wait for God to move. This sounds easy, but it is so often, something so hard to do!  Most of us are naturally problem solvers and it is therefore almost impossible to “stand still” when every instinct tells us to dive into the issue and start dealing with it.

Waiting for God is an important part of our spiritual growth and maturity, and the Holy Spirit does great things in our hearts as we wait.  However, waiting does not mean inactivity. It is about tuning in to heaven and connecting with the Father’s heart. It is about allowing Him to move in your heart and renew and nurture faith. It is about refusing unbelief, fear and negativity, and allowing yourself to stop and stand long enough to see and hear what He is doing. Waiting is about turning our minds and hearts away from “can’t do” to “can do through Jesus Christ”.  Waiting is all about a conversion from the dominance of the soulish realm to the leading and revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Stand still and see. Dear friend, the Lord is calling us to “stand still and see”. While it is hard to absorb the details of an image when you are on the move, you will begin to see the glorious thing the Lord has for you when you stop trying to maneuver and manipulate, and you turn your eyes on Him. There is something coming out of the spiritual realm – something abundantly beautiful and blessed, which is your tailor made solution, far better than anything you could have created for yourself, but Abba Father is saying “Stand still and then you will see”.

The Lord is with you:  When we face difficult times and unexpected attacks of the enemy, we step into “reaction mode” and begin to respond from a place of fear, pain or disappointment. This could be because we momentarily forget that the Lord is with us. Jesus has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He said that He would be with us always and He never breaks His word. It is good to constantly “practice” God’s presence by connecting to Him through the day, but as we find that we can restore order in our heart, even in a bad situation, when we put our eyes back on Him and reconnect to Him through a declaration of divine Truth. Just simply confess something like: “I trust You Lord, You are with me”, or “I will not fear because You are good and You have such awesome plans for me”.

The Father says to you today “My son, My daughter, turn your eyes towards Me. I haven’t left you. I am with you as I promised the day you placed your hand in Mine. It is time to stop and rest and feel My presence, child. Whatever the situation you are facing right now, is no problem to Me. I have it covered and you will see your breakthrough as you rest awhile with Me.”

Judah and Jerusalem:  Judah means “praise” while Jerusalem means “city of peace". A good way to stand still and feel God’s presence is by stepping into that place of praise. As you lift up your heart to heaven and worship, heaven breaks into the atmosphere and things begin to change. The Prince of peace Himself comes and sits upon our praises. He is peace, and His presence brings such amazing peace that things begin to look very different! The lies of the enemy which daunted and intimidated are melted away in the presence of Peace.

Dear friend, whatever is going on in your life right now, know that God is on your side and He has the perfect solution you are looking for.  When you stop fighting this battle and stand still to trust and rest in Him, you will see the mighty miracle-working power of God manifested in and around you, and the victory you so wanted to see.  As you worship and praise, God is drawing you into your destiny. This is your time, today is your day.
Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you!
