A lot of student leaders, rallyists, and protesters fight for the country’s freedom to conserve its political ascendancy, labor and employment stability, agriculture and economic progress.  In my long years of stay here in this earth, I could never recall a particular president on his/her term of office without being bombarded by these groups.  We would be dismayed because these people are fighting for a non-violent form of government brought by corruption, injustice, labor malpractice but here they are can’t notice their own violence brought by their burning of effigies, expression of sentiments through vandalism.

These people who fight for the country’s freedom should be thanked on their love for justice because without them, political leaders who have been swallowed up by their ulterior motives could not have been ousted, impeached and jailed.  Violent form of fighting for justice is not the measurement of true liberty.  We’ve been encountering a lot these (rebellion by the New People’s Army and military leaders, left and right protesters) since the beginning and up to this time but we’re still the same, grappling with economic crisis, low unemployment rate with 2.814 million jobless as of 2011 (source: newsinfoinquirer.net), turtle-paced progress of court cases, and crimes.  Meaning, violent forms of protests can never transform one’s heart if one’s really blinded by his/her selfish will.

Related to this, we could still recall when we gained autonomy through Jose Rizal who never used violence in exchange of independence believing that this has multiplied effects to the lives of the people (death toll, financial exigency and community’s affliction.  Instead, he had been composed fighting for the country’s recovery not through violence of his mind and fists but by the boldness of his tongue through literary works.

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 Rejoice, O young man, while you are young and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart, the vision of your eyes; Yet understand that as regards all this God will bring you to judgment. Ward off grief from your heart and put away trouble from your presence, though the dawn of youth is fleeting.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.

1 Peter 5:5-7  Likewise, you younger members, be subject to the presbyters. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for: "God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble." So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.
